Water Pipe Power

The numbers are in and this idea is phenomenal. If the average home pays $75 a month for electricity, 150 homes powered by a 4-turbine system equate to $135,000 a year. Since they split the revenue, they will be making pure profit in about 18 years. I imagine the system can be maintained for longer than that, but even if it's not a radical model, it's still clean energy.

I don't know a great deal about civil engineering, but I am curious about the "drag" it causes on the water system. Does this create a drain on other power sources pumping the water?
